With the stadium’s legendary field transformed into an open-air tasting experience, guests wandered from booth to booth, discovering new flavors, revisiting beloved favorites, and enjoying the rare pleasure of sampling some of the region’s most exciting food and drink in one unforgettable setting. This year’s event was hosted by Chef Thomas Kalb and Cheesemonger Vanessa Tilaka Kalb of Pasadena’s acclaimed Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, whose ingredient-driven approach and deep connection to the local dining community made them fitting ambassadors for the occasion.

Among the many participating restaurants and purveyors were Descanso, led by Chef Rob Arellano, Wife and the Somm, Poppy + Rose, Lunasia Dim Sum House, Pez Coastal Kitchen, Ayara Thai, La Bay Gin, Paradise Dynasty, BOA Steakhouse, and Fitoor, each adding its own distinct personality to the day’s generous spread. From bold coastal flavors and refined steakhouse bites to Thai specialties, Indian-inspired fare, dim sum, cocktails, and comfort-driven favorites, the event offered a delicious cross-section of Los Angeles and Pasadena’s ever-evolving culinary landscape.

What makes Masters of Taste especially meaningful, however, is that the pleasure of the afternoon is tied to a larger mission. Proceeds from the event benefit Union Station Homeless Services, the San Gabriel Valley nonprofit that provides housing, supportive services, and resources for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Rather than simply gathering for an afternoon of food and drink, guests were also helping support an organization whose work continues to have a profound impact across the region.
