THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS Starring Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, Rachel Weisz Directed by Derek Cianfrance.  Based on M.L. Stedman’s bestselling novel, the film is set in the 1920’s where an isolated couple grappling with miscarriage find a baby that’s washed ashore. Isabel (Vikander) and Tom (Fassbender) struggle with keeping the baby as the woman suspected of being the mother (Weisz) appears on the scene.


SULLY Starring Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney Directed by Clint Eastwood. A good deed never goes unpunished and in the latest Eastwood film, sure to be an Oscar favorite, we learn about the American hero whose quick thinking in saving the lives of 155 passengers on the jetliner is called into question.



THE BIRTH OF A NATION Starring Nate Parker, Aja Naomi King, Armie Hammer Directed by Nate Parker.  First time Director, Nate Parker got tips from Director, Ed Zwick (Glory), James Mangold (Wlak the Line), Screenwriter Robin Swicord (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Spike Lee (Malcolm X) to finesse his film about a preacher who is used by wealthy Virginians to keep their slaves in check, but goes on to become the leader of a violent insurrection.



THE ACCOUNTANT Starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons Directed by Gavin O’Connor. After memorable films like Tumbleweeds and Warrior, Director, Gavin Smith returns with a thriller about an autistic forensic accountant helps un-cook the books or a robotics company and locate a money leak. The Best Actor category just filled a slot.
