On a balmy Saturday evening, June 22nd, the historic Paramount Studios lot was transformed into a scene straight out of a golden age film set for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ 3rd annual “Hollywood Under the Stars” gala. The event, hosted at this iconic location renowned for its illustrious cinematic history dating back to the 1920s, was a spectacular convergence of charity, glamour, and Hollywood glam.

Attendees graced the event in droves, donned in attire that evoked the splendor of Old Hollywood—an exquisite blend of Gatsby opulence and Melrose Avenue chic. The ambiance was further elevated by the heartfelt speech delivered by award-winning actor Ian McShane and Gwen Humble McShane, longstanding Circle of Angels donors, who emphasized the critical mission of aiding Angelenos in need, a cause close to their hearts.

The evening was punctuated by an electrifying performance from the 10-piece live band, de Bois Entertainment, whose vibrant melodies of pop songs resonated through the storied Paramount lot, enchanting the guests as they savored a culinary journey curated by Los Angeles’ finest chefs and restaurants. This gastronomic feast featured an array of delectable offerings from renowned establishments including Angelini Osteria, Alta Adams, Arth’s Bar + Kitchen, City Club LA, Echo & Rig, Georgia’s Restaurant, L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, Pez Coastal Kitchen, Room Service Neighborhood, Bertha Mae’s Brownie Co., Läderach Chocolatier Suisse, Lark’s Cake Shop, Malibu Meringue, Santai Coffee, and Uncle Tetsu.

As the night unfolded under the stars, it was clear that this event was more than just a fundraiser; it was a testament to the community’s spirit and generosity, embodied in the glamour and charm that only Hollywood can provide. The chefs all donated 100% of the food and staff which enabled the event to meet its fundraising goal, further demonstrating the profound impact of collective goodwill in supporting St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ vital mission.
